At the grand old age of 18, Danny Avila has become one of the hottest acts in the world of EDM. From winning the ‘Best Newcomer DJ’ at the prestigious 2011 Vicious Music Awards at just 16, through an incredible 2012 Ibiza season that caught the attention of everyone including Tiësto and dance bible DJ Mag where he became the youngest ever Covermount CD artist, to the announcement of his residency as the youngest ever prime-time DJ on US broadcasting behemoth SiriusXM, acclaimed debut sets at Coachella 2013 and the Main Stage of Ultra Music Festival 2013, the release of the ‘Ministry of Sound presents: Danny Avila Live’ album and inclusion in Billboard, MTV and Dancing Astronaut’s 2013 Ones To Watch lists, Avila is the name on everyone’s lips – and rightly so. It’s a story that smacks of hard graft, an undeniable passion for music and a true talent for reading the dance floor. At 12, Danny picked up his first pair of decks. By 13 he’d saved enough money from playing friends’ parties to buy his own production set-up. At 14 he left his friends and family to relocate to Madrid to give himself more exposure to music and continue his education in music production. The move paid off as the young Spaniard was spotted by none other than Fedde le Grand during a warm up set at Benidorm’s Ku Club. By 16 years of age he was already crowned Vicious Magazine’s ‘Best Newcomer DJ’ – a reputation earned solely on his prowess behind the DJ booth and still to make his first official production (a rare feat in the current climate of Producer-then-DJ). Showing an ability beyond his years to lay down sets oozing with tribal heat and huge energy, rich in track selection that burst beyond the confines of the Beatport Top 100 charts, it wasn’t long before Avila was snapped up by the more legendary venues in Spain – hardly surprising for those who followed his early career. In 2012, after earning his stripes in illustrious company thanks to early headline slots with Fedde le Grand, Martin Solveig, Afrojack, David Guetta and the Black Eyed Peas, Danny confirmed not one, not two but three residencies in Ibiza – at the jet-set hotspot Blue Marlin, Space Ibiza, and at the personal behest of Tiësto, the legendary Pacha Ibiza where he appeared alongside the iconic Dutchman for an unbelievable 15 dates. A staggering 35 dates in total across the season, Danny Avila had well and truly landed on the White Isle. While Avila was busy wowing the crowds in Ibiza, on the other side of the Atlantic, the powers that be were also paying attention. Stateside broadcasting behemoth SiriusXM, the largest purveyor of dance music on the North American continent, snapped up the teenager’s ‘Ready To Jump’ show without a moment’s hesitation, making him the youngest EVER prime-time resident to grace the airwaves – and this before Avila had even dropped a single beat on American soil. Since September 2012 Danny has graced the decks of North America’s biggest festivals and most legendary dance floors, with huge sets at Coachella, Ultra Music Festival (Main Stage), EDC Vegas, Chicago and New York and Beyond Wonderland to the show-stopping Generation Wild Tour which saw him team up with fellow upstarts Deniz Koyu, Mikael Weermets, dBerrie and celebrity bad-boy photographer Kirillwashere to take the Eastern half of America and Canada by absolute storm. Miami, New York, Montreal, Washington DC, Ottawa, Boston, Atlantic City, Albany, Madison, Pittsburgh, Philadephia, Syracuse, Toronto and more fell under the spell of the undeniably talented teenager with fans increasingly clamouring for more. Add to the whole concoction his debut production ‘Breaking Your Fall’ which was released on Big Beat Records, his first official remix for Skylar Grey’s ‘C’mon Let Me Ride’ on Interscope Records, his first official compilation album for none of than the mighty Ministry Of Sound Records and upcoming track ‘Voltage’ on Dutch powerhouse Spinnin’ Records and you begin to see the trust and faith that the music industry is laying at the feet of Danny Avila. With his international presence growing day by day, his Ready To Jump show now looks set to broadcast his sound to some of the world’s most prestigious radio stations and to the ears of millions of eager fans.
